LAKE VARESE GAVIRATE – HISTORIC MANSION

Gavirate Lake Varese prestigious Mansion built between 1890 and 1892 by the Baumann barons by the famous architect Michele Cairati, whose ingenuity is due to various of the best villas of the period, which embellish Lombardy.

Description

In Lombard style, the interiors and the external portico frescoed by the painter Luigi Spreafico di Galbiate; the coffered wooden ceilings with decorations in colors with gilding. The plan of this villa is irregular with a square tower on the South-West corner. The roof of the villa is entirely covered with slates of Valmalenco. Outside the ornamental parts are in stone by the sculptor Pietro Benaglio, as well as the important stone fireplace in the library.

The villa has four floors for a total of about 2800 square meters, divided as follows:

ground floor entrance hall, kitchen, two bathrooms, dining room, living room with fireplace, gallery with glazing, hunting room with fireplace, main staircase in walnut;

second floor 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, clock room, tower.
Almost entirely renovated, it is completely habitable.
The floors are connected to each other both by a stone staircase of the period and by an elevator.

The villa is located in Gavirate (VA), in the north-east of Lombardy, not far from the border with Switzerland as well as Lake Maggiore.
