La Casetta nel Parco is a beautifully fine stone house with traditional stone slab roofs, called “piota” in local dialect.
It sits within a one-acre private park, just a few steps from the lake and beside Villa Rubini Redaelli. Interestingly, it was once used to store “Lucie,” the iconic boats of Lake Como, named after Manzoni’s literary character.
Originally, the house belonged to one grand property stretching from the lakefront all the way to the mountain slopes.
In the late 19th century, Engineer Giulio Rubini purchased the property along with the nearby Villa Rubini Redaelli. Moreover, the two buildings connect by an underground passage lined with elegant white marble.
This was designed by architect Francesco Clerici, a respected professional known for his refined style.
